  Price for 220km - k250/person

There are 3 buses a day from Mpika to Serenje - 6am, 9am and 2pm. The main bus company that is operating is JKas Bus Service.

 

We arrived around 10am at the main station and we were told that the next bus is around 2-3pm, but by chance we can get a shared car or minibus.

 

We paid for the ticket k250 per person. So we waited for 1hour and one of the guys working for the bus company found us a private car leaving to Serenje.

 There were already 3 persons and 1 child, so we were 7 persons in total. We left Mpika around 11:30am and arrived in Serenje at 4pm.

 There are so many trucks on the road in Zambia and we saw many accidents on the way. 

 About 20 km before arriving Serenje we were stucked on the highway for 1hour. 

 The bus that left Mpika at 9am was crashed and the road blocked. A big accident - the bus and 2 trucks.

 The driver dropped us at Atha Executive Lodge next to the main bus terminal in Serenje.

 

We took a room in this lodge, but in the new building across the street, because the main building was full.

 k400 per night, clean, big bed, hot water, no wifi. They also have rooms for k280 and k350 but everything was already booked. 

The only inconvenience is that the walls are thin and you can hear the neighbors.
